The Slovak Design Center

The Slovak Design Center fulfills the role of a documentary, information, collection-making, promotional, consulting, research, publishing and study workplace with a nationwide scope. It is a contributory organization operating in the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic since 1991. Currently, it is managed by Maroš Schmidt. The subject of the centre's activities is to examine, evaluate and clarify the impact of design in society and, on the basis of scientific research, systematically collect, protect, professionally process and make accessible objects of cultural value in design, applied arts and architecture and related disciplines through the Slovak Design Museum.
